India’s first entertainment theme park Adlabs Imagica built by Film producer Manmohan Shetty,
situated on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, is going to open for public from April 18.

Salman Khan With Mohan Shetty A Man Behind This Park The theme park was conceptualised six year ago and itis being touted as South Asia’s largest amusement theme park.
Adlabs Imagica is spread over 300 acres and has been built withan investment of about Rs 1,200 crore.
Two-thirds of the total project cost has been funded through debt, while the remaining is equity.
The theme park has 21 international standard rides, including one based on Bollywood film ‘Mr India’. The rides have 4D simulation technology and out of 21 only 16 rides will be used now and the rest will be ready by June.
“We are looking at setting up another attraction based on another popular Bollywood movie. The plan is to add a new attraction a year to keep people coming back to the park,” Manmohan Shetty said.
The tickets will be priced at Rs 1,250 on weekdays and Rs 1,500 on weekends. In the next one year, the theme park also aims at starting a water park and hotel.The water rides and hotel will take a total investment in the project to Rs 1,650 crore.

The company expects to see a footfall of about 2-3 million a year.The theme park has over 2000 staff support to manage theworkings and they also plan to employ about 1,500 people, once its fully operational.
The park will have rides with Indian themes. The sprawling theme park can accommodate 20,000 visitors at a time. “The idea was to provide families with an alternative to malls, where theycan enjoy with all the members… We expect to break even in about five to six years (as such projects are very cost-intensive),” Manmohan Shetty said. Adlabs Entertainment is also looking at setting up a second theme park inHyderabad by the end of the year, a top company official said. “We have already signed on the project.
If everything goes well, then we will look at setting up the next theme park in Hyderabad by the end of the year. This will be about60 per cent of the present park (Mumbai) in terms of investment and will be spread over about 60 acres,” Shetty told PTI, after announcing the formal opening of the Imagica theme park.
