Like Vidya, Salman too has tinted glass?
Actors Ajay Devgn and Vidya Balan have been reprimanded by traffic police for the tinted films in their cars. Vidya sweetly pays the fine every time but has requested the cops to let her keep the tinted film because she cannot handle the harsh sunlight.

As for Ajay, he bowled the cops over with his conscientiousness and had the tinted film removed immediately.

The latest to join the bandwagon is
Salman Khan, who was on his way to South Mumbai in his high-end vehicle.

It is said that the traffic cops stopped the vehicle at the Worli exit for the light tinted film. But once they spotted Salman Khan in it, the sombre mood immediately changed and the actor was greeted with a wide smile. The cops reportedly took pictures with the star on their mobile phones. The cops allegedly let off Salman with a light warning. Salman-struck kya?

★ Bolly leaders Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan were hot back then or do they sizzle now? We debate

August 16, 2013
Salman khan Akshay kumar
Most of our actors started their career in an alarmingly frumpy avatar—Neander thal-like physique, hideous sideburns and a wardrobe befitting a zebra on steroids.

In other words: Hairy chests, long unsightly hairstyles and a misplaced sense of style.

Salman’s long hair-do in Andaaz Apna Apna was cringe-inducing and so was Akshay Kumar’s lush tropical rain forest on his chest in his early films like Saugandh.

Ajay Devgn’s look in Phool Aur Kaante was simply an eyesore and Saif Ali Khan looked like a total space cadet with his boarding school accent and long hair in films like Parampara, Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Yeh Dillagi.

His Ole Ole act was a joke with his Mississippi-long hair flying all overthe camera. All in all most of our actors needed a good hair cut; some even needed a shower and a seasoned stylist back then.

Blame it on the ’90s grunge or a lack of awareness about the importance of grooming, most actors stood out like a sore thumbas they danced in baggy pleated trousers and wore jarring prints.

Today almost all the stars in the top 10 are in their 40s. The conventional wisdom in media has always been that an actor nearing 50 reaches his expiration date and can kiss his career goodbye. The boys of the ’90s are challenging this notion by continuing to work in big movies, major advertising campaigns and hit television shows. In short, theyare ruling the industry.

Take a look at how they have reinvented themselves and stayed at the top of the game. The dudes have nurtured a distinctive sense of style and better bodies. They even get a thumbs up from the stylists, designers, socialites and fitness experts.

Salman Khan
Debut:
Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988)
Salman Khan was always a heart throb. He also had an inherent style.

This quintessential bad boy with long locks and bulging biceps was a chick magnet. In his 40s, he dropped the bad boy and become the good guy.

The boyish charm has been replaced by the come-to-daddy attitude. Always ready to help anyone in need, he has made Being Human a full time job. At 47,he is till single (so sexy) and a rolemodel to the younger actors — Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan admitted as much. Girls want him, guys want to be him.

Chhaya Momaya, life coach, says, “ Ifind him sizzling hot now compared to the time when he started. Salman has retained his youthful looks over the years. Be i this T-shirt and denim appeal or his worked-out body.

There is a maturity on his face and he conveys a more responsible and grown-up air now unlike his early years when he was a prankster and had a child-like innocence.”

★ ‘We could have made a film with Akshay or Salman’

Tue, 2, jul 2013,

With an enviable track record that reads as a superhit WANTED with Salman Khan and a blockbuster ROWDY RATHORE with Akshay Kumar, Prabhudheva has been enjoying some terrific times at the box office. More over with a film each planned with Shahid Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan, the director has been working with the who’s who of the industry. No wonder, when producer Kumar Taurani decided to bring himon board and designa launch-pad for debutant Girish Kumar, it was a well thought of decision as well.
'We could have made a film with Akshay or Salman'
“Prabhudheva is a very nice gentleman and it is a fact that today, everyone wants to work with him. Honestly, with him on board, we could have made a film with Akshay or Salman. However, he is so passionate about making a film with Girish that he immediately went about the task.

RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA is a remake of one of his own movies and he has gone all out to give Girish the best ever launch that a newcomer can get,” says Kumar Taurani.
He is also pleased about the fact that since Prabhudheva has a commercial bent of mind, it reflects well in every frame that RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA, which has Shruti Haasan as the female lead, carries.

Says Taurani, “If you see the films directed by Prabhudheva, whether it is WANTED or ROWDY RATHORE, there are so many small things that keep arriving on screen in a quick time. As a matter of fact, even the smallest of characters areused so very well by Prabhu. Same is the case with RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA as well.”

“I could see how happy Prabhudheva was while making this film,” he adds, “Yes, he understands commercial cinema and that’s the way he has treated RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA as well. However it has a lot of heart to it, which shows how much care and affection he has for Girish.”

One looks forward to that coming across well on screen as well oncethe film releases all over on 19th July.

★ Salman’s a friend, Shah Rukh Khan an acquaintance: Ajay Devgn !

Tanvi Trivedi , TNN | Apr 12, 2013

Ajay Devgn on his frequent trips to Gujarat, the math of making masala potboilers and more in an interview with TOI…

You seem to be comfortable working with Amitabh Bachchanbut not with stars like Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan.

Currently, I am doing only one film with Amitabh Bachchan. Salman isa friend and I don’t mind working with him, but I haven’t been offered any film with him recently. As far as Shah Rukh is concerned, he is just an acquaintance.

I need to be comfortable on the sets when I am working. I prefer to work in peace without the fear of getting manipulated, not that any star has tried to manipulate me, but I work with people I am comfortable with.

Besides, if the film has two big stars, it unnecessarily goes into big budgets.
