★ Nadira Babbar plays Salman’s mother in ‘Mental’ !
Salman Khan shares a very good equation with the Babbars. The actor had campaigned for Raj Babbar during the last Lok Sabha elections in his constituency, Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh).

This had even helped Raj win the seat.
Salman has also acted with Arya Babbar in Ready(2011). And when Shatrughan Sinha dropped out of Bodyguard(2011) where he was to play Kareena Kapoor’s father, Salman had requested Raj to step in.

Raj did so graciously and didn’t charge a single penny for it. But Salman had gifted him aluxury car as a token of appreciation.

Now, we hear,Nadira Babbar, a powerhouse theatre performer and director, who has restricted her film appearances to the minimum — she was last seen in Bride and Prejudice (2004) — is playing Salman’s mother in Mental.

The schedule is currently on in Hyderabad. Nadira was overheardtelling a friend, “Working with Salman has been such fun that it makes me wonder why I stayed away from films all my life !”

★ When Salman Khan praised Ram’s performance in Ready !
Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who played Ram Pothineni’s role in Hindi remake of Ready, has all praise for the Tollywood star’s performance in the Telugu film.

The Bollywood superstar recently bumped into Ram at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where the two were busy shooting for their Hindi and Telugu movies, respectively.

Salman Khan was at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad for the filming his upcoming film Mental. The actor took some time out of his busy schedule to pay a surprise visit to Ram, who was shooting for Vijay bhaskar’s upcoming Telugu film Golmaal.

The two bonded very well and spoke about the movie Ready.

During the conversation, Salman praised Ram for his performance in it.
Ram was all excited over Salman Khan’s appreciation of his performance in Ready.

The elated Telugu actor took to his Twitter account to share his excitement with his followers.

Soon after the meeting, he tweeted, “Finally met the one n only SALMAN KHAN.. “oh!You were really good in #Ready”..was what he said to me.. :)”

★ Sallu-Bazmee reunite

Sallu-Bazmee reunite
Salman reconciles with friend-turned-foe Anees Bazmee, allots dates for No Entry’s sequel in 2014.

As this paper had previously reported, Salman Khan had a major disagreement with his former friend Anees Bazmee, owing to which the director had walked out during the climax shoot of Ready, their last film together. But Bazmee clearly didn’t account for the collateral damage that his move would elicit.

The cold war between the director and the superstar led to an inordinate delay in the filming ofNo Entry Mein Entry, the Boney Kapoor-produced sequel to the 2005 hit No Entry, which was alsodirected by Bazmee.

Snubbing the director’s repeated requests to allot dates for the ambitious sequel, Salman instead, went ahead and allocated dates for three mega films:

brother Sohail Khan’s Mental, close friend Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick, and Sooraj Barjatya’s yet-untitled project.

Bazmee lived in the hope that things would look up between the two, and in an interview late last year assured that he would beable to get his film rolling in early 2013, but that clearly didn’t happen.

But now it turns out, the turbulence between the once-friends have been put on the backburner. It’s come to light that producer Boney Kapoor had to intervene and ensure that the duo reconciled as No Entry – the film he wants to convert into a super-successful franchise, was getting jeopardized in the process. Both parties have now agreed that reconciliation would be best for business.

As things stand right now, Salman has assigned the dates for No Entry Mein Entry, and the film is expected to go on floors, tentatively in June 2014.

The moveis crucial as not only it will get Bazmee’s film rolling, but it also marks the end of rift between the director and the tempera mental Khan.

Despite repeated attempts, Boney Kapoor and Anees Bazmee remained unavailable for comment.

★ Only Salman can carry a South remake: Sangeeth Sivan !

South remakes have become a trend in Bollywood which is here to stay.

May 20th, 2013
Whether it’s a Rowdy Rathore, Ghajini, Wanted or Singham, the formula seems to work.

Ace director Sangeeth Sivan, who hails from the South and has made films in Malayalam and Hindi, believes Salman is the only one who can carry off such remakes.

Sivan who has had a successful collaboration with actor Mohanlal in films like Yodha, Gandharvam and Nirnayam, believes that in Bollywood, no onecan beat Salman.

Says Sangeeth, “It’s difficult to surpass Salman Khan because he’s a better actor and a star that belongs to another league.

Salman’s a superstar. He’s the onlyone who can carry off South remakes. Look at his films like Wanted, Ready or Bodyguard.

In South, heroes are worshipped. Same is the case for Salman because he’s a god like figure.”

★ Zarine Khan’s ‘Salman’ moment in Bhopal

Zarine Khan had to undergo some daunting moments in Bhopal, thanks to her Salman Khan-connect

April 21, 2013
Zarine Khan may be missing in action from the big screen but she keeps herself occupied with event launches. She is one of the names on the appearance market all over the country. The Veer and Housefull 2 actress was recently invited to Bhopal for a store launch which proved to be an intimidating experience for her.

Says a source, “Zarine reached thestore at 2 pm and was supposed to leave by 3.15 pm to catch a flight back to Mumbai. However after the ribbon cutting, the crowd that had gathered refused to move. They kept chanting her Salman Khan-starrer Character Dheela item number from Ready.”

The crowd that had gathered in Bhopal
Adds the on looker,

“As the crowd kept multiplying, the security wasn’t enough for crowd control. Zarine and her manager were stuck inside the store for an hour. But the crowd seemed relentless and began to grow impatient. Theorganisers had no choice but to request her to address the crowd directly.
She greeted the onlookers and requested them to clear the way so that she could leave for the airport to catch her flight. It was only then that the security managed to create a path between the excited onlookers to escort her to her car.” Looks like there is no escaping the Salman and Character Dheela mania !
